Research built to be acted on

9 years of UX research across health tech, legal tech, search, e-commerce, and EdTech. Less time spent describing problems, more time making the calls that follow: what to build, what to kill, what to rethink once the evidence changes the picture. I've helped redesign a government TB adherence platform used across India, scoped an AI document processing tool around what the model could actually be trusted to do, and run discovery research that changed which market a client built their funding strategy around. Research that ships.
Strategic Research

Almost a decade in, my research sits at the intersection of human behaviour and systems too complex to guess your way through. This spans across clinical workflows, government platforms, multilingual search behaviour, legal operations, travel, e-commerce and assistive technologies. Across domains, the job has been the same: find where the system and the user actually disagree, then make the call on what changes to make.
Domains:
-
Health Tech (core competency)
-
Legal Tech
-
Ed Tech
-
Assistive Tech
-
Search and Language
-
E-commerce
-
Travel
Methods:
-
Usability testing for all types of products - prototype, early stage, fully developed
-
Diary studies for behaviours that unfold over time tracking decisions as they happen, not reconstructed a week later.
-
Formative and summative usability testing to catch failures early and confirm fixes actually landed.
-
Onboarding, in-depth, and off-boarding interview structures for studies that need both a baseline and a closing synthesis, not a single snapshot.
-
Journey mapping and Jobs To Be Done based personas to translate raw findings into something design and product teams can actually build against.
-
Quantitative layering (surveys) added on top of qualitative work when a stakeholder needs more than a compelling story to act on.
Case Studies

End-to-end research across ~20 studies (discovery, formative, summative usability, prototype testing) for a maternal and child health platform used by ASHA, ANM, and MOIC health workers across India. Through discovery and usability tests we mapped the entire public health ecosystem, government registers, incentive structures, digital penetration, revealing the need to pivot toward an app-based platform. Usability testing surfaced concrete workflow failures (screens loading anchored to the bottom, unclear calls to action, language and terminology mismatches with how ASHAs actually speak) that fed directly into JIRA tickets and a revamped, component-based training strategy.
Led end-to-end discovery research for a medical EdTech product (client and project details under NDA), covering faculty teaching challenges, AI tool adoption patterns, curriculum implementation gaps, and student learning behaviours. Research surfaced that the intended launch market, students, looked saturated, while faculty represented a stronger, underserved entry point. This wasn't a minor course correction: it prompted the commercial team to rethink how they were looking at entering the Indian market, shifting the business case itself, not just a feature or a segment within it. This is a case of research changing the direction of a business decision, not just informing a product one.

A mixed-method study for a large global technology company, understanding when and why Indian users search in Hindi versus English versus a mix of both. 24 participants across three language segments, run through onboarding interviews, a 7-day diary study across six verticals, and in-depth closing interviews. Key finding: English is preferred for typing and speed even among Hindi-first users, while Hindi is reserved for precision and clarity, revealing that language preference isn't fixed, it shifts by task. Findings translated into concrete product opportunities around Hindi input, reading experience, and consistent search results regardless of language chosen.
Research for an enterprise legal operations platform, covering two distinct user types: Attorneys managing individual matters, and Legal Ops Directors overseeing department-wide matter and spend management. Built a full journey map (Initiate, Create, Manage, Close) capturing behaviors, thoughts, and emotional friction at each stage for Attorneys, and a JTBD-driven persona for Legal Ops Directors covering their actual jobs (compliance, spend forecasting, vendor management) versus their pain points (fragmented data across systems, no single view of department health). Directly informed feature prioritization around integrations, notifications, and reporting.
